This study investigated the flow characteristics altered by Jang Bogo Antarctic Research Station using computational fluid dynamics(CFD) modeling. The topography and buildings around Jang Bogo Station were constructed with computeraided-design data in the CFD model domain. We simulated 16 cases with different inflow directions, and compared the flow characteristics with and without Jang Bogo Station for each inflow direction. The wind data recorded by the site's automatic weather station(AWS) were used for comparison. Wind rose analysis showed that the wind speed and direction after the construction of Jang Bogo Station were quite different from those before construction. We also investigated how virtual wind fences would modify the flow patterns, changing the distance of the fence from the station as well as the porosity of the fence. For westerly inflows, when the AWS was downwind of Jang Bogo Station, the decrease in wind speed was maximized(-81% for west-northwesterly). The wind speed reduction was also greater as the distance of the fence was closer to Jang Bogo Station. With the same distance, the fence with medium porosity(25%–33%) maximized the wind speed reduction.These results suggest that the location and material of the wind fence should be selected carefully, or AWS data should be interpreted cautiously, for particular prevailing wind directions.  相似文献

The optimum parameters of tuned mass dampers (TMD) that result in considerable reduction in the response of structures to seismic loading are presented. The criterion used to obtain the optimum parameters is to select, for a given mass ratio, the frequency (tuning) and damping ratios that would result in equal and large modal damping in the first two modes of vibration. The parameters are used to compute the response of several single and multi-degree-of-freedom structures with TMDs to different earthquake excitations. The results indicate that the use of the proposed parameters reduces the displacement and acceleration responses significantly. The method can also be used in vibration control of tall buildings using the so-called ‘mega-substructure configuration’, where substructures serve as vibration absorbers for the main structure. It is shown that by selecting the optimum TMD parameters as proposed in this paper, significant reduction in the response of tall buildings can be achieved. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Abstract— Three samples of Darwin Glass, an impact glass found in Tasmania, Australia at the edge of the Australasian tektite strewn field were dated using the 40Ar/39Ar single‐grain laser fusion technique, yielding isochron ages of 796–815 ka with an overall weighted mean of 816 ± 7 ka. These data are statistically indistinguishable from those recently reported for the Australasian tektites from Southeast Asia and Australia (761–816 ka; with a mean weighted age of 803 ± 3 ka). However, considering the compositional and textural differences and the disparity from the presumed impact crater area for Australasian tektites, Darwin Glass is more likely to have resulted from a distinct impact during the same period of time.  相似文献

During the developing phase of central Pacific El Nio(CPEN), more frequent TC genesis over the northwest quadrant of the western North Pacific(WNP) is attributed to the horizontal shift of environmental vorticity field.Such a northwestward shift resembles the La Nia composite, even though factors that cause the shift differ(in the La Nia case the relative humidity effect is crucial). Greater reduction of TC frequency over WNP happened during the decaying phase of eastern Pacific El Nio(EPEN) than CPEN, due to the difference of the anomalous Philippine Sea anticyclone strength. The TC genesis exhibits an upward(downward) trend over the northern(southern) part of the WNP,which is linked to SST and associated circulation changes through local and remote effects.  相似文献

The Maenggol Channel and Uldolmok Strait, located on the south-west coast of Korea, have notably strong and complex currents due to tidal effects and to local geological factors. In these areas, electric power has been generated using strong tidal currents, the speed of which is more than 3 m/s during spring tides. The region also provides a shortcut for navigation. These tidal conditions are therefore sometimes useful, but may also cause terrible accidents or severe economic damage, in the absence of accurate information regarding ocean conditions. In April 2014, the passenger ferry MV Sewol capsized in the Maenggol Channel, with 295 passengers killed and 9 still missing. While this was unquestionably a man-made disaster, strong currents were one of the contributing causes. It was also difficult to conduct scuba diving rescue operations given strong current speeds, and accurate prediction of the time when the tide would turn was thus critically needed. In this research, we used the high-resolution coastal circulation forecasting system of KOOS (Korea Operational Oceanographic System) for analysis and simulation of strong tidal currents in such areas with many small islands, using measurements and modeling from this research area. For accurate prediction of tidal currents, small grid size-modeling was needed, and in this study, we identified a suitable grid size that offers efficiency as well as accuracy.  相似文献

钙质夹层是控制剩余油形成与分布的主要因素之一.辽河盆地大民屯凹陷沈95区块钙质夹层十分发育,利用丰富的岩心、测井资料,识别并探讨了钙质夹层的分布规律及成因.研究表明:本区钙质夹层是早期无铁碳酸盐与晚期含铁碳酸盐胶结形成的两期夹层;早期钙质夹层主要分布于泛滥平原亚相、三角洲平原亚相;晚期钙质夹层主要发育于三角洲前缘亚相,且一般位于砂泥岩接触带,厚层砂岩顶底部碳酸盐胶结物较中部高.早期钙质夹层是沉积期、成岩早期,蒸发作用使富钙孔隙水中的钙质沉淀形成的;晚期钙质夹层是在有机酸作用下,Ca2+、Mg2+在烃源岩(泥岩)中溶解,再于储集岩(砂岩)中沉淀形成的.根据夹层的分布规律可以更有效地挖掘剩余油.  相似文献

夏季东亚高空急流与天气尺度波动的气候特征之间的联系   总被引:4,自引:1,他引:3  
利用NCEP/NCAR逐日资料(1979~2003年),分析了东亚夏季高空急流和天气尺度波动气候特征之间的联系。通过分析急流与天气尺度波动活动量Q(用于描述某一时间段内天气尺度波动活动强弱程度)、热量涡动输送(V′T′)的关系,发现:在气候平均意义下,天气尺度波动活动量在6、8月较大,这意味着在这两个月中,天气尺度波动较为剧烈。这和急流的强度变化是相对应的,即强的天气尺度波动活动量对应着强的急流,弱的天气尺度波动活动量对应着弱的急流。热量涡动输送也表现出与天气尺度波动活动量类似的特征。年际变化上,夏季平均和6、7、8各月平均的热量涡动输送和急流强度都存在显著的正相关。对强、弱急流年份条件下热量涡动输送合成分析的结果表明:热量涡动输送偏南时,对应着强的急流;热量涡动输送偏北时,对应着弱的急流。以上的研究结果说明,在气候平均意义和年际变化上夏季东亚高空急流和天气尺度波动之间有着密切的联系。  相似文献

The effects of sea surface temperature(SST) data assimilation in two regional ocean modeling systems were examined for the Yellow Sea(YS). The SST data from the Operational Sea Surface Temperature and Sea Ice Analysis(OSTIA) were assimilated. The National Marine Environmental Forecasting Center(NMEFC) modeling system uses the ensemble optimal interpolation method for ocean data assimilation and the Kunsan National University(KNU) modeling system uses the ensemble Kalman filter. Without data assimilation, the NMEFC modeling system was better in simulating the subsurface temperature while the KNU modeling system was better in simulating SST. The disparity between both modeling systems might be related to differences in calculating the surface heat flux, horizontal grid spacing, and atmospheric forcing data. The data assimilation reduced the root mean square error(RMSE) of the SST from 1.78°C(1.46°C) to 1.30°C(1.21°C) for the NMEFC(KNU) modeling system when the simulated temperature was compared to Optimum Interpolation Sea Surface Temperature(OISST) SST dataset. A comparison with the buoy SST data indicated a 41%(31%) decrease in the SST error for the NMEFC(KNU) modeling system by the data assimilation. In both data assimilative systems, the RMSE of the temperature was less than 1.5°C in the upper 20 m and approximately 3.1°C in the lower layer in October. In contrast, it was less than 1.0°C throughout the water column in February. This study suggests that assimilations of the observed temperature profiles are necessary in order to correct the lower layer temperature during the stratified season and an ocean modeling system with small grid spacing and optimal data assimilation method is preferable to ensure accurate predictions of the coastal ocean in the YS.  相似文献

本文对林子宗火山岩命名地-林周盆地内典中组最底部的英安质火山角砾岩和年波组下段的流纹质熔结凝灰岩进行了锆石U-Pb年代学和Hf同位素分析,结果显示前者形成于62.5±1.1Ma,而后者形成于56.4±1.2Ma,表明林子宗火山活动的起始时间略晚于K/T界限年龄。岩浆锆石的ε_(Hf)(T)值分别为 9.0~ 0.5和 11.0~ 4.8,显示亏损地幔的特征,与同时期冈底斯岩体的岩浆锆石相似,应为同源产物,源自于地幔楔的部分熔融。此外,典中组样品含有石炭纪年龄的捕获锆石,它们的ε_(Hf)(T)值介于-0.6~-3.2之间,具有中元古代的Hf同位素模式年龄,与附近念青唐古拉岩带花冈岩的捕获锆石相若,暗示拉萨陆块老地壳的混染在岩浆演化中亦扮演了角色。结合区域地质,我们认为在藏南拉萨陆块上的林子宗火山岩是印度与欧亚大陆碰撞之前到碰撞初期新特提斯海洋板块向北俯冲、拆离作用的结果。  相似文献
